About Me

Shan-Marie: I have many passions in life, but friends and family have always been of the utmost importance. Poetry, both writing and reading, has been an integral part of my life, but over the last several years my passion has expanded to the sugar arts. Self taught by books, advice, internet, trial and error, patience and lots and lots of practice, I am living proof that if your heart is in it, you can accomplish it. I adore everything about baking/decorating. I love the fact that cake decorating involves so many mediums and techniques that always push me beyond my limits and comfort zones, challenging me and giving me the satisfaction of conquering each skill. Piping, painting, fondant, modeling chocolate, gum paste, carving, and molding, are just a few examples. My favorite part of baking/decorating however, is creating something that can bring such joy and an added touch of tasty to a special event. To put it simply, I LOVE smiles. It all goes back to my priorities and my first and forever passions, my family and friends. And NO, it is NOT too pretty to eat. It is too tasty NOT to. Besides, I probably took 500 pics of it anyway! ;-) So enjoy!!
